Thai massage is a traditional therapeutic and healing art that originated in Thailand over 2,500 years ago. It is also known as Thai yoga massage and is a combination of acupressure, Indian Ayurvedic principles, and assisted yoga postures. The massage therapist uses their hands, feet, knees, and elbows to apply pressure to specific points on the body, while also stretching and manipulating the body into various yoga-like postures. The goal of Thai massage is to balance the energy flow in the body and promote overall wellness. It is believed to improve circulation, flexibility, range of motion, and reduce stress and tension. Thai massage is usually done on a mat on the floor, with the recipient wearing loose, comfortable clothing.
